If you had a business development plan now could be a fantastic opportunity to work on it. With less going on, rather than twiddling your thumbs, lets look at the work you could be doing to further your business, prepare for that new product, new brand, new website launch, expansion, recruitment drive, whatever it might be, plan it, develop it and work on it, so when things get back to normal, you have made the most of the time, are ahead of the game and more importantly are ahead of your competitors.

All those things you have been struggling to find time for, now is the time to get on with them, there are huge opportunities for business right now, but you have to look for them and not look at the obstacles.

Depending on your sector, you might now find that now is an ideal time to talk to your enquiries and even generate some new ones. If you are in a sector that required thought, time to decide, a high exchange of information, or large investment. Consumers often find that they don’t have time to look at it, or prioritise it when they are otherwise busy. So now could be an excellent time to start getting the information over to them, getting the information from them, so that they can be in the best position to make a decision either now or in the future? Particularly in the construction sector, people can now make plans for their home, or do research, basically take the extra time to make the most informed choices for the future.

Working professionals that I work with such as financial services, accountants and legal, are actually finding that workload is increasing. People who haven’t had time to look at their wills, investments, retirement planning, pensions, savings, ISA’s, you name it, now is the time they are sitting down and reviewing.

So take a look externally at your business and your sector and assess where the opportunities arise, even if they aren’t revenue generating at the moment, they could create a healthy funnel of work for the future by getting the decision making process underway now.
